If you are looking for an opportunity to use your skills to do meaningful activities to support New Life and our community, this is the right page for you! We are blessed for the many volunteers who step in and help us make church a great place to be. Our volunteer positions are listed below to help you see where your talents fit. We would love to hear from you!

  • Sunday Kids Min Volunteer: Sundays from 9:45-11:30am

    - Offer assistance and supervision in games, teaching, and small group activities

    - Building connections with children, fostering a sense of community and biblical

    instruction

    - Tear down and clean-up of assigned area at the end of service

    - Overseeing attendance and dismissal of children

    - Must have police check (over 18 years old) and Protection Policy Training

    - Serve approximately once a month

    - Opportunities in the following areas:

    - Preschool age children - 0-18 months

    - Kindergarten age children - JK/SK (area of greatest need)

    - Elementary age children - two groups...

    - Grades 1-3 & Grades 4-6+

  • Sunday Check-In/Greeting Volunteer: Sundays from 9:45-10:05am

    - Enthusiastic and friendly greeter to assist families in checking in and dropping off their

    children

    - Involves greeting both church families and visitors

    - Need to have some understanding of technology, but proper training will be given in how

    to run the Check-In area

    - Ensure families feel comfortable and informed about dropping off their children to our

    programs

    - Must have police check (over 18 years old) and Protection Policy Training

    - Serve approximately once a month

  • Casual Event Committee Member: as needed

    - Be available for assisting with planning, preparing, setting up, and facilitating any events

    that we put on for children and their families throughout the year

    - Need a variety of skills and abilities, including:

    - Teamwork

    - Creativity

    - Willingness to serve

    - Communication

    - Organization

  • SLAM Team Leader: Wednesdays from 6:15-8:15pm (Jan 11 - May 10)

    - Assisting leading a team of approximately 14 kids

    - Age range from K-5, with 6 age-appropriate teams

    - Building connections with children, fostering a sense of community and biblical

    instruction

    - Helping to uphold the values and rules we follow at SLAM

    - Must have police check (over 18 years old) and Protection Policy Training

  • SLAM General Leader: Wednesdays from 6:15-8:15pm (Jan 11 - May 10)

    - Not necessarily leading a team one-on-one with children

    - Must have police check (over 18 years old) and Protection Policy Training

    - Offer support in any area needed

    - May include:

    - Supervision

    - Clean-up

    - Media

    - Facilitating snack

    - Assisting games session

    - Registration and Release

  • SLAM Snack Helper: Wednesdays from 6:15-7:45pm (Jan 11 - May 10)

    - Prepare, set out, and serve snack during the three rotations

    - Involves keeping water jugs filled and setting cups out

    - Snack needs to be ready for about 90 kids (30 in each of the three rotations)

    - May involve purchasing the snack and bringing it to the church (receipts need to be kept

    for reimbursement)

    - Must have police check (over 18 years old) and Protection Policy Training

  • SLAM One-on-One Workers: Wednesdays from 6:15-7:45pm (Jan 11 - May 10)

    - Work with some of our VI (Very Important) Kids to help support additional needs

    - Offer support and inform team leaders of additional needs that children in their group

    may have

    - Building connections with children, fostering a sense of community and biblical

    instruction

    - Helping to uphold the values and rules we follow at SLAM

    - Must have police check (over 18 years old) and Protection Policy Training

  • Flex Team Member: as needed

    - Be available as a backup for any/all of our Kids programs:

    - SLAM

    - Sundays

    - Children and Family Events

    - Most likely responsibilities would include:

    - Supervision

    - Set-up or tear down

    - Preparation for activities

    - Extra support to other volunteers and leaders as needed

  • Photographer/Videographer: We are looking for volunteers who are willing to NLA events and services to provide high quality photos and video footage

    Camera Operator: volunteers are responsible for operating the video cameras during services.

    Audio  Operator:  Audio Operators are responsible for operating the sound board during rehearsals and services as well as ensuring that services are well mixed and running smoothly for both in-person and livestream services

    Graphic Operator: Graphic Operators are responsible for switching slides and lyrics on the room screens and for livestream

  • Worship Leader: Worship Team member volunteer will lead songs, prayers, Scripture readings for the weekend worship as well as organize and lead a band and other vocalists

    Worship Team Vocalist: The Worship Team Vocalist will sing on the team, support the worship leader vocally and possibly lead sections of songs.

    Worship Team Instrumentalist: The Worship Team Instrumentalist will play an instrument in the band. We are interested in almost any instrument, but specifically looking for instruments in the "rhythm section" (bass, drums, piano, keyboard)

  • For Those Homebound or in the Hospital

    Our Visitation ministry team offers compassionate care and prayer for those who are:

    • Homebound
    • In the hospital
    • In a nursing care facility or seniors residence.

    We are happy to visit in person if it is possible to do so. If not, we make phone calls to talk with the individuals, pray for them and ask how we can best support them.

  • Our kitchen co-ordinator would look after the organization of the kitchen(cleaning, organizing, inspections),  be a support for events, make sure supplies are ordered, cleaning is done on a regular schedule, repairs are needed etc.  This is a casual but ongoing area.  

    requirements: organization skills, food handlers course.
